Speed Bumps
Day 21 of No Smoking! The desire to somke is completely gone and the cravings have disappeared. I am very thankful for that. Bad news though, I have to suspend my gym membership. My beautiful wife, Sarah, lost her job last night. So we have to cut corners wherever corners can be cut. I will still continue to eat right, but no gym for a while.

The Holidays!
So it is Week 3 of Healthy Living. Day 14 of No Smoking. The Holidays really killed my diet, but I am back on it today. I am going to the gym in the next 30 minutes. Back to morning schedule tomorrow. Should have gone this morning, but I was way too tired! Nothing to to report. I will weigh in this morning and have a Week 3 weight tomorrow.

Week 2
So yesterday, I had to workout after work. I hated it, it was crowded and I just didn't like it. Back to my usual schedule today. It so nice to workout in the AM because you feel like you really accomplished something. I dragged my ass out of bed and made it there at 8am. You realize how much you can get done in a day. The downside is that I'm ready to crash at like 9 that night, which is good. I'm sleeping great! It's also Day 8 of No Smoking! FIST PUMP! I did have a huge craving earlier. I got in a huge argument with my friend Shawn. And I was pissed, but I did not succomb. What else??? I will post my weigh in next Monday. I am going to weigh myself every 2 weeks, as per instruction of my "personal trainers." So I will update you then. Merry Christmas!

This Weekend
Hey Guys, Sorry I have been too busy to post any news. On Friday we had our company Christmas Party, Saturday was my best friend Lee's Graduation and today is Christmas shopping in St.Augustine. I am going on 1 week without Smoking and the cravings have pretty much disappeared. YAY!!! Back to the gym tomorrow. I ate well this weekend, no fatty food and no sugar. So I'm doing pretty good. I do my 1 week weigh in tomorrow. AWESOME!!! I will post my Week 1 weight loss tomorrow, Later all.

Tonight
Tonight will be my first test of strength and will power. I'm meeting up with my Mom and going to her "drinking club" to watch the Jags game. It is a bar and there will be tons of smoking going on! I know I have the strength and will power to not smoke. I'm just worried! Send some prayers my way! Thanks guys.
I have to work early tomorrow, so I'll have to go to the gym after work. I'm kind of pissed because I don't want to screw up my schedule. But it's cool!

My Endeaver...
I decided to start this blog so I could share with everyone my goals, struggles and accomplishments as I set off to lose 80 pounds in 6 months. I decided about 2 months ago that I wanted to lose weight; I looked in the mirror and was very unhappy with myself. I ate like shit, I smoke a pack of cigarettes a day and I drank almost everyday. Don't get me wrong, I still love an ice cold beer everyday after work...only now it's a Mich Ultra. I have always been a big guy. I'm 6 feet tall and I weigh 289 pounds. My ideal weight is 220 pounds. When I was in High School I played Football, I was an offensive lineman, so I was encouraged to be big and strong. I worked out everyday, but all I did was lift weights. So I was actually gaining weight. I weighed about 300 pounds and I still do (up until this week.) So now I have commited myself to being Healthy! Everything else in my life is awesome! I have a wonderful wife, a great family and some of the best friends that a person could wish for. I attend a wonderful church and have accepted Jesus into my heart and have become a better person for it. But something has been missing. And I finally realized it, I was unhealthy and going to die at a young age. I couldn't walk up the stairs at my house without gasping for air. Something had to change! I told Sarah, my beautiful wife, that I was joining the YMCA by my work and was going to go 5 times a week every morning. She is fully commited to this as well, sadly her job makes it harder for her to make it to the gym, but we talk together every night and we are both eating healthy. As soon as my Wii is repaired, we can begin Wii Fit together. I have gone to the gym every morning this week. I work out for 2 hours every morning. I start with 30 minutes on the Bike, then I do 30 minutes on the Elliptical and finish it up with a 30 minute walk ( to cool down.) I do 20 minutes of weight training. Monday, Wednesday and Friday is arms and chest. And Tuesday and Thursday is legs and back. I usually swim every day as well. I'm going to hold off on that until I get some goggles, the chlorine in the pool really irritated my eyes. I tried the sauna on Tuesday and it was miserable...NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN!
Today was a great workout! I weighed in at 289. I don't know what a healthy amount of weight to lose a day is, the more I lose the better! I drink lots of water everyday, I eat healthy meals and snacks everyday. And NO SUGAR! So I think I have a good regiment worked out here, but I am open to suggestions. Quitting smoking is hard, but I know the payoff will be great! I feel better and better everyday. I'm sleeping better, I can breathe easier and my self esteem is beginning to rise.
